With the readership of this publication in mind, my goal was to create a look and feel that was inviting and feminine, but also secretive and enticing. Something that spoke to the high society gossip held within its pages.

The Adria Hotel is a 19th century Victorian home refurbished into a boutique hotel, situated in London. The current design seems to have lost all of its history. This rebrand is meant to draw back on the Victorian time period, while maintaining a modern aesthetic.
Les Miserables by Victor Hugo is one of the greatest novels of the 19th century. This book design is meant to bring together the historical, tradition of the story combined with a modern typographic treatment of the book titles.
Fruit of the Loom was established in 1851-before the first basketball was made, Abraham Lincoln was president and telephones were invented.
The current logo is too sterile, and seems to have stripped all history from the original logo. With this refresh I hope to go back to the roots of one of America’s oldest brands: optimistic, cheeky, fresh and reliable. Click here to view the logo progression over time.

HYPE MACHINE is a music blog aggregator that enables people to discover new music before it becomes mainstream. Click here to view the current branding. This brand refresh was highly influenced by user testing.
The primary logo is a lockup of the word “hype” which is the short form of the brand name. The slanted line is a representation of a “Y” and is used as a secondary icon in other applications. There is a secondary logo used for horizontal applications.
Through user testing I found that most users use this app to discover new music, and then look at their own feed of saved music. It immediately opens to the “discover” section. The menu options are in order of usability after that, beginning with their feed.
